Tips on Being Regular

Most people don’t even realize how often they should have a bowel movement. It’s not a topic we normally discuss so we don’t know there is a problem until we have a REAL problem. The average healthy adult should have 2-3 bowel movements daily. Your bowel movements should smooth and leave the body easily without hard pushing or painfully waiting for them to get to that point. There are many foods that can help regulate your digestion and elimination and many foods that hinder it. And please keep in mind that no matter how clean your diet may be, STRESS is a huge factor when it comes to digestion. The best diet added with high stress levels, can be equivalent to the worst diet. Here are a few suggestions for what to eat to help your digestion:



• WATER

• Fresh fruits, especially apples

• Fresh, raw fruit juices, especially apple

• Fresh, raw vegetables

• Prunes and prune juice

• Whole grains

• Yeast-free, sugar-free breads

• Sprouts

• High fiber foods

• Lots of steamed vegetables with protein

• Potassium and magnesium rich foods

• Cold pressed oils such as olive oil or coconut oil (2-4 T per day)

• Hot lemon water



Suggestions on what to avoid:



• DAIRY, especially milk and cheese

• Bread

• Table salt

• Refined sugar

• White flour

• Candies, cookies and pastries

• Excessive coffee and black tea

• Carbonated drinks

• Alcohol, especially beer

• Processed foods, especially canned food

• Salted snack foods

• Fried foods

• Excessive animal protein

• Very hot or cold foods

Parasites

The dreaded PARASITE!!!! Well don't worry about saying, "Not Me" because chances are, "yes, even you".  There are many types of parasites and some that are predominantly in certain areas only, but when a person gets that parasite and travels it can then be transmitted to anyone, anywhere, without anyone knowing.

Ok, so first lets talk about some of the ways of getting parasites.
Walking Barefoot- that just about covers 2/3 of the world that lives in sunny, tropical, beach, lake, warm type areas or anyone who just likes to walk barefoot outside.
Not washing your hands thoroughly after using the restroom-well we have all seen the drive by hand washes in the restrooms and sometimes done them ourselves because we were in a hurry.
Eating out- when you eat out there are quite a few things to consider.  Every person who touches your food must have thoroughly washed their hands.  The food must be properly cared for as in washing the vegetables and fruits VERY thoroughly, and properly cooking the foods.  Beef that is not cooked well-done has a 20% chance of having parasites since only 80% of beef is checked for parasites before being sent out to the public.
Not washing your own fruits and vegetables thoroughly before eating- most parasites are microscopic so just wash as well as you can.
small children- they are pretty much walking parasites.  They don't wash their hands well, the touch themselves, the play in the dirt and will put their fingers in our mouths as well as theirs.
Pets- especially if they sleep in your bed or lick you in the face.

Let me also state that an parasite is just an organism that feeds off of another organism.  And like I said earlier, most are microscopic, but some can be quite large in the form of like a tapeworm wich can grow to be 4 to 8 feet long.  These predominantly come from Beef that is raw or undercooked and is most common to man and is found worldwide. There are other parasites like pin worms, hookworms, roundworms, etc. 

Some of the best ways to take care of parasites is to do a parasite cleanse and do colonics during it to get rid of any die off of the worms.  You can also eat garlic or buy garlic pills, obviously be very consious of the above causes of parasites.

Infarred Saunas and detoxification

Well many of you have heard about saunas.  There is a difference and I would like to share some of that with you.  First of all steam saunas and high heat saunas get the body to sweat almost instantly by creating heat on the outside.  They are a much higher heat which can be harmful to the body and should not be used longer than 20 minutes.  These saunas are typically 180 degrees. Infrared saunas are a much lower heat that penetrates the body 1 1/2 - 3 inches deep and stimulates the lymphatic system, and the muscles and joints to release toxins.  These toxins will release through sweat but its not coming from an exterior sweat.  It's being released from further in the body, so as you sweat, you need to continually wipe the sweat off of your body before the toxins go back into the open pours. Types of toxins that are released are, mercury, lead, car emissions, tobacco, mold, and other toxins that we come across daily without even knowing it. You can reach a good detoxifying sweat at 120 degrees.  Some of us keep our infrared saunas between 110-140 degrees.  You can be in an infrared sauna for 30 minutes and some doctors are even recomending them for patients with issues like weight loss,  lowering cholesterol, blood pressure, gout, etc.

Constipation part 2

Ok, so I said in my last blog that I would give you some more options for relief of constipation.  My favorite for someone who suffers regularly and has bowel movements every 2 days or worse is Dr Schulze's Formula 1.  Dr Schulze's Formula 1 is taken in the evening at meal time WITH food and the next day you should have a bowel movement naturally, not running for the restroom with diahrea. If you don't have a bowel movement the next day you increase it to 2 capsules and so on until you are comfortable with what bowel release you are having.  The next one that I personally recomend is Mag07.  This is not as strong as the Formula 1 but very helpful to clients with constipation.  It is Magnesium and Oxygen in a veggie capsule.  These you can take in the am or pm or both on an empty stomach.  You can also take digestive enzymes prior to your meals to help aid in digestion and absorption and help with bloating, indigestion and heart burn.  But don't forget to eat your GREENS!  This is sooooooo very important.  If you don't eat your greens you should at least drink a green drink.  Green drinks are available at almost all health food stores, and come in a powder form that you mix with water. Constipation

Ooooh Noooo, I said it, CONSTIPATION.  Most people don't even know that they are constipated.  It's just the thought of talking about our Poo!  Constipation is actually just not having 1-3 easy bowel movements a day.  These bowel movements should move easily and quickly.  Not a 30 minute trip to the bathroom with your favorite novel. Bread, cheese, salt, refined sugar, white flour, candy, cookies, pastries, carbonated beverages, alcohol, processed foods, and fried foods can all exacerbate constipation. . But there are many foods that help to maintain regularity including fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh juices, prunes, prune juice, whole grains, sprouts, fibrous food, water, herb tea, essential fatty acids (such as olive oil, avocado, and fish oil), and lemon or lemon water.  In my next blog I will give you information on other supplements that can be used to help the digestive tract and relieve constipation.  Colonics for someone who is constipated is a huge relief almost immediately.  We always recomend that you try everything naturally that you can, but cleaning your colon and keeping it clean is going to have a huge impact on your health for life.

The importance of Colonics during a cleanse

Quite often we find ourselves feeling the need to do a fast, a cleanse or any type of detox. These are all great ideas and I recomend everyone try it at least once to not only clean the body but to also clear the mind and soul. When we do these cleanses we often believe that just making the effort to take the capsules or juice the veggies is all we need to do. After all, isn't this enough work in itself already? Yes, it may be work, but the effects are so much better when combined with a colonic. The open system or LIBBE as we call it does bowel training (when using bowel training protocol), it excersizes the colon (which is a muscle) and cleans the colon. When doing this you open the eliminatory pathway for all of your organs to release toxins. So if you are cleansing and trying to get rid of toxins this speeds up the process. If you release toxins that your body is trying to get rid of, you then free up the energy that your body would be using trying to do the same thing. You now will have much more energy for yourself so you won't feel so lethargic and beat down. It is recomended that you do at least 3 during a cleanse. One at the beginning to "jump start" the process. What is a colonic like?

Many people want to know exactly what it's all about and what is going to happen.  It's the thoughts in our mind that make us nuts over it.  The process is easy.  I will explain to you what I have in my office, an "OPEN SYSTEM" or "LIBBE".  First of all, the rectal tube is smaller than your pinky, you insert it yourself, we teach you how, it only goes in 1 to 1.5 inches and you don't really feel it once it's in.  This is very dignified and can be almost completely private if you wish it to be.  Once the tube is inserted and you are covered you push the page button (in my ofc. other offices may have a different set up).  We come into the room and will start the water.  Water gently fills up the Large Intestine otherwise known as the colon.  The water stimulates the colon (wich is a muscle) to do it's job.  The colons movement is called peristalsis.  It's a rolling, squeezing motion that pushes everything down and out.  Your body releases (a bowel movement), into the basin ( you are laying on a comfortable table with basin built in with plumbing - totally sanitary, no mess).  Everything releases around the tube and into the basin. Nothing goes back thru the rectal tube that is putting water into you and the tube does not get pushed out! Then water will automatically fill back into the colon for you to do this again and again.  This system is gravitation fed, so water is drained into you, not forced into you.  You continue this process for approximately 40 minutes. 

Benefits:

There is a 3 fold benefit doing it this way.  1st of all, you clean out your colon wich is what every one comes in for originally.  2nd is the bowel training that your colon gets.  Your colon is a muscle not a baloon.  Everything in there is meant to go out, not stay inside!  So it's almost like taking that muscle to the gym.  The 3rd and most beneficial in MY OPINION is that when you clean out the colon you open up the eliminatory pathway for all your organs to release their toxins.  Your liver can release toxins, your kidneys (you may feel the urge to urinate during this), your lymphatic system, your small intestines can release stuff into the large intestine to be released, your lungs can release toxins, your gallbladder if you have one can release toxins.  We are made perfect and if we keep our sewage system (Colon) clean, then all of our organs can funtion better.

Why Colonics?

Scary words here, Colonic or Colonhydrotherapy! It's ok, I know your stomach tightened and the thought is frightening.  It really isn't! Had someone told me 5 years ago that I would have even had a colonic I would have laughed and said, yeah right! If someone would have told me I would own my own business doing colonhydrotherapy I would have fallen off my chair and told them to order another drink. Well here I am 5 years later and not only do them all the time, I have become a colon hydrotherapist and own my own facility.  In short, when you clean out the colon you open the eliminatory pathway for all of your organs to release their toxins.  Most doctors don't agree with them because they say there isn't enough scientifical proof that they help.  I have about 800 clients that could argue that, but no one asks them.  Not to mention the millions of other colonic clients that are around the world.  Today all I am going to leave you with is a comparable setting that most people can relate to.
